Yes, our vegan products are designed to be gentle and effective for all different skin types. We use natural and naturally derived, plant-based ingredients that are free from harsh chemicals. Our products are also cruelty-free and we endeavour to find the most eco-friendly we can, so you can feel good about using them on your skin. If you have any specific questions or concerns about a particular product, please feel free to contact us for more information.
A slightly gritty texture can naturally occur in balms that contain high levels of plant butters, such as shea or cocoa. This happens when the butters cool at different speeds during the setting process, forming tiny crystals. It’s completely harmless, doesn’t affect the quality or effectiveness of the balm, and will melt instantly on contact with warm skin.
Because our balms are handmade in small batches using natural ingredients, slight variations in texture are perfectly normal, but the nourishment and performance remain exactly the same.
A list all of our ingredients are on our website and on our product labels. If you have any specific questions about ingredients or allergens, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team. We're always happy to help and provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about your purchase.
We do use plastic for some of our products. This is usually where it’s needed for safety during use, to protect the product, or to maintain freshness and quality. When plastic is required, we choose recycled plastic wherever possible, and we’re always reviewing and improving our packaging to ensure it’s as eco-friendly and sustainable as it can be.
Our goal is to balance safety, product integrity, and environmental responsibility, and we’re committed to making the most planet-conscious choices we can. We also have a REUSE and RECYCLE scheme - details can be found on the website.

We aim to make good quality skincare, however this is expensive to do. A lot of skincare products on the market are water based and can contain around 70% water, and water is a cheap ingredient. The plant oils, butters and pure essential oils on the other hand aren’t. Willow & Birch products are only made with quality plant oils, butters, waxes and essential oils. There are no cheap ingredients to bring the price down so you are getting your moneys worth with 100% quality products. Our products are handmade too on a small scale with a lot of care, which makes the reduced costs of mass manufacturing just impossible.

Generally yes. However would always say use any new products with caution especially in your first trimester, it may be a good idea to do a patch test before using our or any other products on your skin. During pregnancy, many women find their skin becomes more sensitive and so doing a patch test is more necessary at this time. Always check the label.
Our products use essential oils, some of which women do need to be careful of during pregnancy as not all are suitable.
Please get in touch if you are unsure about any of the ingredients BEFORE you use them.
